Description
Salzburg is most definitely a city of spires. From any one of the mountainous vantage points bordering the old town, your view will always include a selection of pointed spires, steeples and domes. In this photograph, taken from Monchsberg, the Romanesque style spires of St Peter's Abbey and Benadictine Monastery feature on the right and on the left, one of the oldest churches in Salzburg, the gothic style Franciscan Church. At the very top sits the majestic Hohensalzburg Fortress, overlooking the city from high on Festungsberg Hill. I hand blended textures with my original photograph to compliment the old world feel of this classic Austrian scene.
