So why is a Tesla cruising in Space? SpaceX wanted to show that their Falcon Heavy Rocket can bring large and heavy objects into Space -- so why not use a cool car for this mission? The Tesla is on a mission to mars with a “Don’t Panic” dashboard message, a dummy astronaut (Spaceman) in the seat, and David Bowie on the radio, playing his famous song Space Oddity.

The Falcon Heavy ist the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two.
