Description
The Ribeira district of Porto sits along the banks of the Douro river. It is teeming with life and vivid colour. In this historic centre of the city, medieval streets and alleys are filled with all types of ancient buildings, crumbling and decaying houses sit side by side with newly painted pastel abodes in all the tones of the rainbow. Each of them topped with a bright red tiled roof, so typical of Porto. It's a hugely atmospheric place and I think this is reflected in the architecture, spirited and lively, varied and mixed, there is something for everyone in this beautiful Portuguese city. Architecture of Old Porto Portugal has a added texture to complete the vintage feel.

I particularly like the P.O.V. and the dominance of the buildings against the sky. Wonderful work, Carol! l/f g+
